Maha Muni Buddha Image board of trustees invites donors for tiles

DSC_0763Mandalay, 19 Jan—Posts of Shwekyaungdawgyi where Maha Muni Buddha Image is being kept is renovated with substitution of red brown tiles with jade tiles in Mandalay.
The building has 132 large and medium posts and 32 small posts. A plan is underway to substitute the red brown tiles with jade tiles. Wellwishers may donate installation of new tiles for an large post worth K6.5 million, a medium post K4 million and a small post K2.5 million, according to the pagoda board of trustees.
Priority will be given to the wellwishers who had donated red brown tiles at the posts in donating the new tiles at the posts. Only if the original wellwishers have no wish to donate new tiles, will new wellwishers have the opportunity to donate jade tiles at the posts, U Phone Kyaw of the finance section under the pagoda board of trustees told media.
“We will give first priority to original wellwishers of tiles. Information has been given to them residing in all parts of the nation through newspapers. The announcement reported that original wellwishers are to contact the pagoda board of trustees, not later than 31 January whether they would like to donate new tiles or not. The announcement was attached to telephone numbers. Beyond the target date, new wellwishers will be allowed to donate jade tiles for the posts,” he said.
Even though original wellwishers will not donate new tiles, their names will be expressed at the posts together with new wellwishers. As such, old and new wellwishers are to contact the pagoda board of trustees in time by dialing 09-259095166. Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Sub-printing House)
