Malicious media outlets are spreading false information on social media, claiming that security forces launched attacks using heavy weapons resulting in two civilians dead and 14 hurt in Lapoh village, Gangaw Township in Magway Region on 13 July.
Civilians reported on 13 July to security forces that PDF terrorists gathered in the vicinity of Lapoh village. Upon a tip-off, security force members conducted a counterattack using heavy weapons, and terrorists died. In the same evening, terrorists attacked the regional station using drones and they retreated amid counter-terrorism attacks, according to a security official.
Fake news was reportedly circulated through malicious media, defaming security forces. — MNA/KTZH
