Mandalay Region co-ops fund summer rice farming

The Mandalay Region Cooperative Department reports that over K600 million has been loaned for cultivating more than 3,000 acres of summer rice in Mandalay Region.
Since 1 April, a total of K600 million has been distributed to 749 members across 18 cooperative societies from 12 townships in Mandalay Region. This funding comes from the State Economic Promotion Fund, the regional government fund, and the cooperative fund.
Additionally, growers have received 1,448 baskets of paddy seed, 3,133 bags of natural fertilizer, 2,328 bags of pearl fertilizer, and 1,782 bags of compound fertilizer.
The objective is to assist cooperative society members in increasing crop yields and earning higher profits through collaboration. The loan carries an interest rate of one kyat per month, with both interest and principal repayment required after six months. — TWA/MKKS
