Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda festival to commence on 14 Feb

The Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda festival in Minbu (Sagu) Township of Minbu District in Magway Region will kick off on 14 February 2024, according to the Pagoda Board of Trustees.
The Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda festival is held from the fifth waxing day of Tabodwe (14 February) to the first day of the Myanmar New Year (17 April).
Almost 15 per cent of the preparations for the festival have been completed, such as the repair work of Mann Creek sandbank and growing various flowery, plants along the middle of the road from the three-mile entrance to Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda and around the elevators and upstairs.
The Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda festival was temporarily suspended in 2020 and 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic and reopened in 2022. During the 2023 festival, around 100,000 pilgrims entered daily. — TWA/MKKS
