The Myanmar Embassy to Singapore announced that Myanmar children abroad who want to enrol in the basic education programme for the 2024-2025 Academic Year (AY) can apply at the embassy from 9 am to 2 pm on 17 August (Saturday) and 18 August (Sunday).
The application forms can be downloaded from the embassy’s website, and they must bring three copies of the completed application form, five passport-sized photos, passport copies of the student and the guardian, and copies of the stay permit page.
A child registering for KG class must be five years old on 31 May 2024, and if they are six years old, they will be allowed to attend Grade 1. KG and Grade 1 students must present authentic birth certificate.
For other classes, the school leaving certificate (original) for the highest grade passed before the 2024-25 academic year must be submitted. Applicants for the tenth grade (Grade 10) must indicate in full the combination they choose from STEAMS 1, STEAMS 2, and STEAMS. Applicants for Grades 11 and 12 must attend only the subject combination they passed in the previous lower grade, which must be described.
For the applicants after the mid-term of the 2024-2025 academic year, the original school leaving certificate and valid copies of the monthly academic progress records showing the subject scores taken in Myanmar must also be submitted together.
The examination result will be released only for those who take and pass the mid-term and final tests among the students who have been admitted to the relevant class, the embassy said. — MT/ZN/ED
