MEE explains fuel, electricity distribution and safety measures

THE Ministry of Electricity and Energy held a press briefing in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday in connection with the topic of fuel distribution and safety measures.
The Myanmar Petroleum Products Enterprise imports aviation fuel in partnership with Singapore-based Puma Energy Group Pte Ltd. After forming a joint venture named the National Energy Puma Aviation Services Co Ltd, the enterprise reached an agreement with the Singapore-based energy company on 15 July this year.
At the press briefing a representative of the ministry explained its plans to construct fuel stations at 11 airports across the country.
The ministry also briefed those present on the distribution of electricity from power stations to consumers in states and divisions through the national grid, progress in the construction of new power plants and the installation of generators and transformers as well as the safety measures called for in undoing and fixing knotted overhead power lines around living quarters.
