Meeting on rating disability scale, PLWD registration held in Nay Pyi Taw

News photo 2 72A meeting on rating disaity scale and registration of people with disabilities was held at M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Tawyesterday.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Aung, the Vice Chairman (1) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Committee, said the meeting on rating disability scale and registration of people with disabilities was held regularly.
In the meeting, locations and plans for pilot projects on rating disability scale and registration of people with disabilities will be discussed, along with the confirmation of the ways on rating disability scale and registration of people with disabilities, and duties and responsibilities on rating disability scale those are included at the law and rule and regulation, said the Deputy Minister U Soe Aung.
Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Mya Lay Sein then said the ministry is carrying outthe National Health Plan by which all people to get equal health care access, especially for the needs of people with disabilities. The ministry is also trying with the release of needed instruction to prevent occurring disabilities, provide education and cares for the disabled and rate disability scale in accordance with the international standards.
The process of rating disability scale and registration of people with disabilities play an important role for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and will be successful if not only health and social organizations but also other departments and people are working together.
Thereafter, on behalf of UNICEF representative to Myanmar, Ms. June Kunugi,Mr. Samman J. Thapa, Chief, Social Policy and Child Right Monitoring delivered a greeting remark.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
