Meiktila’s residents consume drinking water from water treatment plant


Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Ye Myint inspected supply of water to Meiktila from the water treatment plant near the independence monument in Meiktila in the last week of April. Chairman of Authentic Water and Wastewater Co Ltd Dr Tun Than Tun and engineers spoke about supply of 1.1 million gallons of water to the urban area.
Mandalay Region government allotted K932 million of fund to supply of water in Meiktila in 2013-14 fiscal year. According to the result from laboratory test, the water from the water treatment plant meets the standards set by World Health Organization. The chief minister and party also inspected dredging of silt in Meiktila Lake (North) and construction of the bridge over Meiktila on Meiktila-Kyaukpadaung Road.–Mandalay
