Members of the Task Force for the facilitation of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre; U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Aye Htun, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health and U Aung Tun Khaing, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement had a meeting with the Cambodia Delegation led by Dr Kung Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on 20 April 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Meeting was attended by the member of the Task Force U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretaries of the Task Force; Dr Ko Ko Naing, Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and U Sein Win, Director General from the Ministry of Health and members of the Task Force Working Group.
The Meeting reviewed the Phase-1 implementation of the provision of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre. The Ministry of Health updated the progress on the provision of Humanitarian Assistance throughout the country. Members of the Task Force, at the Meeting, reaffirmed the facilitation of the effective delivery of the Humanitarian Assistance, which are already in hand to the Myanmar people indeed in need.
The Meeting then discussed and exchanged views on the preparation for the Phase-2 provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar, including the initiatives proposed by Cambodia. The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement briefed upon Government’s Plan and Preparation for Phase-2, including the Standard Operation Procedure for the implementation. The Meeting then discussed the tools and methodology for the implementation process for Phase-2 and the Task Force members reiterated Myanmar’s strong will and readiness for the distribution of humanitarian assistance to the people in need in an equitable manner without discrimination in line with the domestic rules and regulations of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted dinner for the Cambodia Delegation led by Dr Kung Phoak, Secretary of State for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the Office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair at 6:30 pm hrs at the M-Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.—MNA
