The Myanmar Engineering Council (MEngC) and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) signed a mutual recognition agreement (MRA) yesterday afternoon, as part of a programme conducted by Myanmar to expand such agreement with other foreign engineering associations.
The signing ceremony was held at the Function Hall of MEngC Headquarters in Yangon, attended by Union Minster for Construction U Han Zaw, with making a remark on the MRA.
He said that Myanmar and China are cooperating in engineering works in both Union and private levels, and that the registration of Chinese engineers will benefit the country and engineering community as many engineers from non-ASEAN member countries are working in Myanmar.
Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai, MEngC President Dr Charlie Than and CAST Vice President Mr Mang Qingnai explained bilateral cooperation, the works of MEngC and technical cooperation.
The Union Minister and the Chinese Ambassador witnessed signing of MRA between the MEngC and the CAST.
