Methamphetamine seized in Shan State

Police seized a total of 500 kg of methamphetamine (ICE), worth about K10 billion in Aungban and Taunggyi in Shan State on 3 November, according to the Myanmar Police Force. Acting upon the information, anti-drug police searched 15 bags on a three-wheel motorcycle of Han Tun in Zawti Village in Aungban town at 5:30 pm on 3 November, and seized 300 kg of methamphetamine.
After examining Han Tun, the police searched the house owned by Sai KhantKyaw and May ThazinLatt.
At that time, Sai KhantKyaw was not at his home. Police seized 200 kg of methamphetamine in the house.
The methamphetamine was intended to be sent to Rakhine State through Yangon. Currently, Myanmar Police Force have opened lawsuits against Han Tun and May ThazinLatt under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. —MNA (Translated by Maung Maung Swe)
