MIFER Deputy Minister attends 1st Meeting of High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision

The First Meeting of the High-level Task Force on the ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision was organized in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 31 March to 1 April 2022.
Myanmar delegation led by Eminent Person (EP) Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Than Aung Kyaw and High-Level Representative (HLR) Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to ASEAN U Aung Myo Myint joined the meeting.
Cambodian Deputy Minister Dr Chem Widhya of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and former Chair of Malaysia Human Rights Commission Tan Sri Hasmy Agam co-chaired the event.
During the meeting, they discussed rules and regulations and work plans of the working committee on drafting ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision, participation of officials concerned in drafting ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision, measures to strengthen ASEAN capacity, implementations of ASEAN Community 2025 and other points to add in ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision.
Then, the deputy minister made some suggestions to carry out the measures in line with the directives of ASEAN leaders, holding high-level task force meetings, priorities in implementing the ASEAN Community Post-2025 Vision and other work plans.
He also discussed the measures to analyze the facts that will be added to ASEAN Community Post-2025 Vision and other related matters.
The High-Level Task Force serves as an advisory group to develop a vision and process that will shape the key to ASEAN’s future integration, considering the need to address the geopolitical tensions beyond 2025, strengthen the socio-economic impacts of natural disasters and the pandemic, and ASEAN-centred regional cooperation. — MNA
