Military tribunal takes action against murderers and illegal drugs dealers

A total of seven people were arrested together with stimulant tablets and marijuana in Dagon Myothit (North) and Hlinethaya Township (West) between 6 and 10 April in Yangon Region.
A tribunal was set up to investigate their cases, and under Section 19 (a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, they were sentenced to indefinite work and imprisonment, respectively, on 7 May.
Myo Min Tun (a) Thargyi, son of U Soe Myint, has been on the run, and an arrest warrant was issued according to Section 87 and 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Similarly, the military tribunal investigated the murder cases that happened in Dagon Myothit (South), and Hlinethaya Township (East) and (West) between 26 March and 9 April and perpetrators were sentenced to 20 years in prison with work respectively under Section 302 and 436 of the Penal Code on 7 May.
The illegal drug dealers who were arrested together with stimulant tablets in Hlinethaya (East) Township on 9 and 10 April were also sentenced to 10 years in prison with work respectively under Section 16 (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law on 7 May.
The Martial Law was declared on 14, and 15 May in Hlinethaya Township, Shwepyitha Township, Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Dago Myothit (Seikkan) Township and North Okkalapa Township as terrorist attacks to industries, schools and ward administration offices were accelerated in these townships.
It is reported that 23 types of crimes that will be heard by the military tribunals in the townships where the Martial Law was declared were issued and that legal action is being taken effectively and rapidly if one commits these crimes. — MNA
