Minister takes stock of development works in Myitta Township

The Taninthayi Region Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Hla Htway, inspected a mining site operated by Myanmar Pongpipat Co. Ltd at Heinda Village in Myitta Township of Taninthayi Region on Sunday.
The minister met with the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Kraingkrai Chavaltanpipat, General Manager U Khine Swam, Heinda mining manager U Htay Aung, and other officials from the company.
During the meeting, Minister U Hla Htway gave instructions to ensure that there is no environmental fallout from lead mining at the Heinda mine and promote occupational safety.
Afterwards, Mr. Kraingkrai Chavaltanpipat explained the lead mining production process, planting of trees such as casuarina and Oreashar Padauk to mitigate the negative environmental impact of the project, measures being taken for preventing occupational hazards, and safety arrangements for emergencies.
Thereafter, the minister, accompanied by the concerned personnel, toured Sides B and C of the MPC Company. The minister and his party left Heinda Village for Dawei Town at 2.20 p.m. —Myitta IPRD
