Ministries meet to develop ASEAN Community Vision 2045 strategic plans

A coordination meeting on the development of the Strategic Plans of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 among relevant ministries of the three ASEAN Community Pillars in progress in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

A coordination meeting on the development of the Strategic Plans of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 among relevant ministries of the three ASEAN Community Pillars was held on 4 September 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw. The meeting was led by Dr Wah Wah Maung, Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Eminent Person (EP) of Myanmar for the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV) and attended by directors-general and high-ranking officials from respective ministries.
During the meeting, the deputy minister briefed on the progress and way forward on the development of strategic plans for the ASEAN Community Vision (2045), including the finalization of the second reading of the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Strategic Plan at the 16th meeting of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV). Deputy Minister Dr Wah Wah Maung encouraged the relevant sectoral bodies under three ASEAN pillars and connectivity to closely coordinate with each other on the development of respective strategic plans. On strengthening ASEAN’s capacity and institutional effectiveness, the deputy minister highlighted the need for institutional strengthening, including the ASEAN Secretariat and respective national secretariats, so as to bridge the existing gap between human resources and resource mobilization.
At the meeting, representatives from three ASEAN pillars also briefed on the ongoing process of negotiation on the respective strategic plans of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. Then, the proposed action lines under the strategic goals of the ASEAN Political and Security Community Strategic Plan were thoroughly discussed among participants, and their views were openly and candidly exchanged. — MIFER
