Ministry of the Office of the State Counsellor donates cash assistance to IDPs in Rakhine State

The Ministry of the Office of the State Counsellor donated cash assistance to the internally displaced persons in Rakhine State yesterday afternoon in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the donation ceremony, Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor U Kyaw Tint Swe said the cash assistance aims to donate blankets for the 15,000 households in Rakhine State to deal with cold weather during the winter season. He also added effective donation through the General Administration Department of the Ministry of the Union Government Office which can hand over the donation to the relevant persons. He expressed words of thanks to the officials of the General Administration Department and the Ministry of the Union Government Office.
Union Minister for the Union Government Office U Min Thu said his department will distribute the blanket donation worth of K60,085,600 to the 15,812 households, both to Rakhine community and the Muslim community in Kyauktaw, Minbya, MraukU, Yathedaung, Buthidaung and Maungtaw townships in Rakhine State.
The Union Government Office is cooperating with the relevant organizations to carry out the Social Cohesion process among the communities in Rakhine State. The Rakhine State General Administration Department and the Centre for Diversity and National Harmony-CDNH have jointly launched Maungtaw Township as a model township project for community integration, with the aim of achieving lasting peace and stability and peaceful coexistence between different communities and implementing five projects since December 2019.
He said his Ministry would do the best to implement the administration processes required in IDP camps in other states and regions as well as in the Rakhine State Development processes and expressed words of thanks to the Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Directors-General and the Ministry of the Office of the State Counsellor for the donation.
Afterwards, Union Minister U Kyaw Tint Swe handed over the cash assistance K 60,085,600 to Union Minister U Min Thu.
The donation ceremony was also attended by Deputy Ministers U Khin Maung Tin and U Min Lwin, the Permanent Secretary and Directors-General.—MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
