Artist Than Kyaw Htay from Dagon Myothit (North) Township of Yangon Region who participated in the show said, “The Rakhine nationals have never held such painting show collectively. During this period, we, the artists want to show how to create a painting full of the essence of our regions and so we organize this exhibition. I am very glad to hold such a show.

“It’s an indescribable pleasure to be able to exhibit my paintings in my hometown. When we were young, it was not easy to find a painter, let alone an artist, and we were glad to have hundreds of such paintings on display in the exhibition. Then, the students or anyone may enjoy the show.”
The cash received from selling the paintings will be used in some development programmes of Rakhine State.
For the event, 46 Rakhine artists will be showing more than 160 paintings for three days. —Tin Tun (IPRD)/GNLM
