Nay Pyi Taw, 23 Nov — The Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development organized an event here on 21 November to directly hear from its staff, with the director general of the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department giving a briefing on projects aimed at improving fishery and food security in rural areas, sources said.
The director general urged the staff to speak openly of the difficulties encountered in their lines of duty.
Speaking on the occasion, Union minister U Ohn Myint told his staff that his ministry will continue to collaborate with other ministries as well as with ASEAN countries and partner countries.
At the meeting, the union minister pointed out the need to reduce poverty in rural areas, emphasizing the country’s endeavours to lift itself out of least developed country status and urging officials and staff to redouble their efforts with resolve.
