MNA to extend Yangon-BKK flight for convenience of passengers

Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) is planning to extend their Yangon-Bangkok flight for the passengers who wish to travel to Bangkok, Thailand, according to a statement from MNA.
MNA will launch the Yangon-Bangkok-Yangon flight on Friday, 26 November. Then, the airlines fly their relief flights en route to Singapore and Bangkok and charter flights heading to Dubai and Kuala Lumpur in November.
MNA, a state-owned airlines, will launch relief flights to Singapore and Bangkok in November 2021 and charter flights to Yangon-Dubai trip and Yangon- Kuala Lumpur one.
Related to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment, the suspension will be applied to the entry of all travellers, the issuance of all types of visas and visa exemption services until 30 November.
Myanmar has extended the restriction on entry of travellers until 31 October to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All of these restrictions were extended until 30 September 2021 earlier, but the restriction has now been extended until 31 October.
Just like the previous announcements, foreign nationals, including diplomats and UN officials, who wish to travel to Myanmar by relief or special flights due to urgent official missions or compelling reasons, are asked to contact the nearest Myanmar mission for possible exceptions to certain visa restrictions.
Myanmar has received US$69.2 million as revenue from e-Visa and over 1.7 million tourists applied for e-Visa from 2016 to August 2020, according to the official data of the Ministry of Immigration and Population.
The Ministry’s data showed that revenue from e-Visa stood at $10.8 million from 289,205 foreign nationals in 2016, $14.3 million from 377,310 in 2017, $16.3 million from 417,523 in 2018, $21.5 million from 531,998 in 2019 and $6.3 million from 138,277 as of August, 2020. — ACM/GNLM
