Senior General Min Aung Hlaing stressed that local peace and stability measures must be taken systematically to ensure the safety of life and property of the people.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and union-level dignitaries, yesterday morning said so in his inspection tour of peace and stability measures in the Eastern Command area.
In his response, the Senior General underlined that information about security measures must be gathered to restore peace and stability in the region and security measures.
He added that all measures must be taken not to damage roads and bridges being used by the people.
The Senior General stressed that the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone has restored peace over the years and has been joining hands with the government to restore peace and stability in the region for many years.
Hence, he continued to say that emphasis must be placed on stabilizing the areas terrorists enter.
The Senior General explained that as the State declared MNDAA, TNLA and AA armed groups as terrorists on 2 September, those who contact these terrorists are also committing terror acts.
He highlighted that MPF members and administrative officials need to serve the interest of the people without making burdens.
The Senior General’s guidance was that concerted efforts must be made to successfully enumerate the population and household census with solid security measures.
Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Min Latt of the Eastern Command reported on local security duties being carried out by Tatmadaw members, MPF members and people’s militia in the Eastern Command area, rehabilitation of Loikaw and other towns damaged in attacks by KNPP, KNDF and PDF terrorists, and seizures of arms and ammunition, returning of PDF terrorists into legal fold and seizures of illegal timber.
At the local Tatmadaw hospital in Aungban, the Senior General comforted Tatmadaw member patients receiving medical treatment for their injuries sustained while serving the defence and security duties of the State and fulfilled their needs.
The Senior General also presented cash awards and gifts to Tatmadaw member patients.
The Senior General inspected preparations to build a stadium facilitated with a 400-metre track in the compound of the hospital and gave necessary guidance to officials. — MNA/TTA
