MNHRC pays field visit to Mandalay Boys’ Training School

The inspection team, led by Members of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission U Kyaw Soe, Dr Than Myint, Dr Tin Maung Maung Than and U Tin Aung, inspected Mandalay Boys’ Training School in Aungmyaythazan Township, Mandalay Region, on 5 March 2024 under Section 43 and Section 44 of the MNHRC Law.
The inspection team inspected under the MNHRC Law and procedures whether the young boys who are detained in the centre can get fundamental rights, including healthcare services, food supplies, provision of purified drinking water, adequate dormitories, availability of Citizenship Scrutiny Cards, support programmes for physical and mental development as well as right to education, vocational training, communication with their families, reintegration with their families and freedom of religion. MNHRC will send recommendations to the relevant department for necessary action based on the findings during the inspection. — MNHRC
