Myanmar National League football clubs will play pre-season friendly matches this month, according to the domestic league’s organizers.
Ahead of the friendlies and new season, head coaches have expressed confidence plus feeling about their teams.
“We have to play friendly matches against Shan United on 11 February and Mahar United on 15 February,” Hanthawady United Head Coach U Myo Min Tun.
“The fact that foreign players are not used is mainly because we want to give priority to local players. It is also because of the goal of producing elite players, which is the direction of the team.
“This year, unlike last year, every team made preparations. I see that all the teams are really preparing. It will be more intense,” he added.
Mahar United head coach U Zaw Lin Tun said, “The main thing is to keep the current players from moving to other teams. Now, if the combination of former players and foreigners such as Friday, I believe that my team will be in a good situation.”
Ayeyawady United head coach U Myo Hlaing Win said, “As far as I learn, there are many teams that are better than us. Every team make their best preparations. As for the promoted teams, foreign players are preparing with good coaches, so I think every game of this year will be more difficult than last year.” —KZL
