MNREC Union Minister to attend 2nd ASEAN-MRC Water Security Dialogue in Laos

The Myanmar delegation, led by U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, left Yangon for Laos yesterday morning to attend the second ASEAN-Mekong River Commission Water Security Dialogue to be held in Vientiane, Laos, on 18 September. Officials from the ministry saw off them at Yangon International Airport.
High-ranking officials from the ASEAN Secretariat, Country level representatives from ASEAN countries, Mekong River Commission Chairman and Officers, and a total of 250 water management experts from China, Korea, Canada, Switzerland, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States will attend the dialogue on water security in the Mekong and ASEAN region. They will discuss how to be resilient to environmental impacts and how to develop effective policies in the areas of cooperation. — MNA/TS
