MoALI Union Minister inspects Kyaungsu river water pumping project

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo inspected the Kyaungsu river water pumping project in Thanatpin Township of Bago Region on 10 January.
During the visit, he discussed the effective use of water, proper water management, crops distribution and technical assistance to plant value-added crops.
He also added that the government is implementing seven river water pumping projects in this financial year to ensure access to water for agriculture using solar energy in order to save expenses in the long run.
The solar system is adopted for the Kyaungsu river water pumping project of the Bago Region and Kanni and Kanmalay river water pumping projects in the Magway Region. Moreover, the operations in Lat Pan Chay Paw and Ngathayauk of Mandalay Region and PS-II, PS-III and Kata-92 in Pyaw Village of Sagaing Region will complete in February. The switching to solar power for the remaining pumping projects will be also undertaken as per the FY.
Then, the Union minister and party went to Yenwe Dam constructed over Yenwe creek in Kyaukdaga Township and inspected the strength of the dam and natural disaster prevention measures.
The Union minister visited Wampong jetty in Tachilek Township together with the Shan State Chief Minister on 9 January.
During the visit, he inspected the Wampong jetty area development, land allocation, import and export processes of agriculture and livestock products of neighbouring countries to be in line with the existing law and preventive measures for crops and animal diseases. — MNA
