MoC conducts import processes for COVID-19 protective equipment daily

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.
On 30 August (Yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products including oxygen plants and concentrators were imported by 18 companies and transported by 28 vehicles, including three bowsers vehicles.
A total of 59 tonnes of oxygen (liquid) carried by three bowsers, four tonnes of liquid oxygen, 4,900 empty oxygen cylinders, six oxygen plants, one oxygen generator, 388 home oxygen concentrators, 3,000 sets of Covid-19 test kits, 2,500 sets of PPE suits, and 13 tonnes of masks were imported
via Muse, Chinshwehaw, Myawady and Tachilek trading posts and Yangon International Airport.
Three vehicles carrying liquid oxygen plus six oxygen plants to Yangon and one oxygen plant to Mawlamyine were transported respectively.

It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
