MoC conducts import processes for COVID-19 protective equipment daily

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.
On 27 August (Yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products, including oxygen plants and concentrators, were imported by 25 companies and transported by 50 vehicles, including four bowsers.
A total of 69 tonnes of oxygen (liquid) carried by four bowsers, 21 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 13,173 empty oxygen cylinders, seven oxygen plants, 919 home oxygen concentrators, 4,104 sets of COVID-19 test kits, 4,800 sets of PPE suits, and 25 tonnes of masks were imported via Muse, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti, Myawady, Tachilek, and Hteekhee trading posts and Yangon International Airport.
Four vehicles carrying liquid oxygen were transported to Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, and Nay Pyi Taw, and three oxygen plants to Yangon, two oxygen plants to Mandalay, one oxygen plant to Myingyan and one oxygen plant to Sittway were also transported respectively.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
