MoC facilitates importation of anti-COVID-19 devices and related supplies on public holidays

The Ministry of Commerce is providing a temporary exemption from the application for import licences for medical supplies and related medicines to control the incidence of COVID-19 outbreak. Relevant departmental officials are also working together to facilitate the import process on public holidays from 26 July to 8 August.
Yesterday, 29 companies successfully imported a total of 10,295 oxygen concentrators, 21 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 18 tonnes of liquid oxygen tanks, 94 tonnes of masks, and 900 task kits were imported through the Yangon International Airport and Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw, Kawthoung, Kengtung and Lweje border trading posts.
From July 12 to 30, when the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus started to increase nationwide, a total of 1,241 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 114 tonnes of oxygen cylinders, 59,274 oxygen concentrators and 306,978 tonnes of the test kit and 963 tonnes, 6 oxygen plants and 11 oxygen generators were allowed to import as officials are giving priority to disease control of the COVID-19 by opening border trading posts every day.
The Ministry of Commerce steps up cooperation with relevant departments to facilitate the importation of COVID-19 disease prevention and control equipment by arranging direct contact with officials from trade centres concerned if assistance is needed. — MNA
