MoC facilitates smooth import of anti-COVID devices from abroad

The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, by arranging continuous importation through trading posts, international airports and seaports.
Anti-COVID-19 equipment was imported by seven companies using 14 vehicles. A total of 77 tonnes of liquid oxygen carried by four bowsers and 74 tonnes of masks were imported via the Muse 105th-mile Trade Zone, Myawady Trade Zone, and Chinshwehaw trading post yesterday.
Out of four oxygen bowsers, two were transported to Mandalay from the Muse 105th-mile Trade Zone and another two to Yangon and Monywa via the Myawady Trade Zone.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including online registration for the import process.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments and treatment of COVID-19 as well as contact persons for inquires can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
