MoC Union Minister inspects lab for trade, rice export procedures

Union Minister for Commerce Dr Pwint San inspected the establishment of laboratories for trade and rice export procedures in Yangon Region yesterday.
The Union Minister first conducted an inspection tour to CTQM of the Consumer Affairs Department in Hlegu Township and then inspected the lab test processes for quality agricultural products like crops and rubber products.
The CTQM in charge, including Chairman of Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association U Aung Myint Htoo and other officials of the relevant department, clarified the working processes.
Then, Union Minister talked about the rubber exports. He also said about 90pc of rubber productions are exported to foreign countries, and it is a promising export. Therefore, it should be prioritized in National Export Strategy. Then, the officials of UMFCCI should make efforts for rubber to grab ISO 17025.
The Union Minister and party also went to Shwe Me’ Logistics Services Co., Ltd in Shwepyitha Industrial Zone and inspected about 100,000 tonnes of rice export to Bangladesh under the G to G agreement.
The officials of UMFCCI and Myanmar Rice Federation presented the rice exports of relevant companies and other ongoing work plans.
Then, the Union Minister stressed the need to strive to penetrate the market of neighbouring countries with pulses, including onions. — MNA
