MoE Union Minister inspects preparations for opening basic education schools in Southern Shan State

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyut Pe views round development tasks of basic education high schools in Southern Shan State on 29 May.

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe accompanied by Shan State Minister for Social Affairs U Aung Myint, Shan State Deputy Director General of Education Department U Myint Lwin and officials visited Basic Education High Schools in Southern Shan State including Shwenyaung BEHS, Heho BEHS No. 4 and BEHS No. 3, No.8 and No. 10 in Aungban of Kalaw Township yesterday morning.
The Union Minister checked preparations for opening of the schools, conditions of school maintenance, buildings, hall conditions, and greenery and cleanliness of the campus.
The Union Minister said that when the schools open on 2 June, the necessary measures must be taken for the students to study peacefully.
“Teachers need to nurture and educate the new generation students in their states and regions to become educated and good people. Only then will the abundance of educated people raise the national level,” he said.
Teachers must always study to improve their skills. In the past, only about 3,000 trainees from jobs were allowed to attend BEd course per year. At present, up to 20,000 teachers in the workplace are allowed to attend BEd coruse every year.
He noted that the list of those who have passed the matriculation examination will be released soon, so there will be winners and losers. Those who failed the exam and those who missed chances to take the matriculation examination for 2021-2022 academic year can take the exam again this year, he explained
At the time of transition to the new education system, this academic year is the last year of the old system matriculation examination, the Union Minister added.
He called on the teachers to work together to produce highly qualified students with the perfect character of their schools. —MNA
