Deputy Minister for Electric Power U Aye Kyaw inspected the replacement and repair work of the 123 kV Ponnagyun main station and substitution of towers in collapsed towers of 230kV An-MraukU-Ponnagyun national grid in Rakhine State yesterday.
First, the Deputy Minister checked the completion work in the Control Room and Switch yard of the 230 kV Ponnagyun main station, the preparation of the staff housing, and arrival of the tower and accessories to be replaced. After that, he and his team went to Towers No 424 and 425 in Ponnagyun Township and inspected the removal of the damaged towers and the restoration of the damaged foundations.
The repair works for the 230 kV Ponnagyun main stations are nearing completion, with approximately 90 per cent of the task already finished. The ministry is diligently collaborating with a team of 567 engineers and a skilled workforce to expedite the repair works of the power lines. —MNA/KZW
