MoFA Deputy Minister receives EDG Chair, UNOCHA Director for Operations and Advocacy Division

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Lwin Oo received the delegation led by Ms Edem Wosornu, Chair of Emergency Directors Group (EDG) and Director for Operations and Advocacy Division at UNOCHA in New York, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
They cordially exchanged views on the current and further cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations and facilitation for the provision of humanitarian assistance to the needy population.
Also present at the meeting were the permanent secretary and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Executive Secretary of the Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR) and the WHO Director of Health Emergency Interventions, who are Emergency Directors based in Geneva, and the Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim, Head of UNOCHA (Myanmar) and Head of Coordination Unit (UNOCHA, Myanmar) based in Yangon. — MNA
