MoFA Union Minister holds separate talks with Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan Ambassadors

U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar separately met Dr AK Abdul Momen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at 4:30 pm (local time) and Hon Ali Sabry, Foreign Minister of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at 5:15 pm (local time) on 17 July 2023 on the sidelines of the 12th Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and BIMSTEC Foreign Minister’s Retreat in Bangkok, Thailand.
During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, they candidly exchanged views on further consolidation of bilateral relations between the two countries, expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, successful implementation of repatriation of verified displaced persons from Rakhine State as well as regional and international matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting with the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, they cordially exchanged views on matters related to the further promotion of the traditional friendly relations between Myanmar and Sri Lanka, enhancement of trade and investment particularly in the areas of education, information technology, finance, and closer collaboration in regional and multilateral contexts. — MNA
