MoH Union Minister discusses healthcare services for Mocha-hit areas

Union Health Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win inspected the damage after Cyclone Mocha and repairing works at Food and Drugs Administration Department Office in Sittway Township together with relevant officials yesterday.
At noon, the Union minister attended the coordination meeting on healthcare services for storm-affected areas held in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, the Union minister highlighted the preparations in the health sector in each township of Rakhine State that were hit by Cyclone Mocha, current and ongoing work plans to analyze the needs after the cyclone, adding chlorine to the lakes and wells, distribution of water purification tablets, medicines and medical supplies to prevent diarrhoea, quick response to communicable disease, sending of RRT (Rapid Response Team) and medical teams and other matters.
Then, officials of the Public Health Department, Medical Services Department and FDA reported on the destroyed rural health centres and branches clinics, Sittway General Hospital, district and township hospitals and dispensaries and office buildings.
The Union minister then stressed the need to spend the fund effectively for maintenance under the current expenditure of 2023-2024FY and conduct long-term and short-term plans for repairing works. — MNA/KTZH
