MoH Union Minister inspects Nursing Training School, Traditional Medicine Hospital, Sittway General Hospital

Union Health Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win meets health staff for the provision of healthcare to disaster victims in Sittway yesterday.

Union Health Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win together with Director-General Dr Myat Wunna Soe of the Department of Medical Services, Director Dr Kyi Lwin of the Public Health and Medical Services Department and officials inspected the cleaning of the garbage and reconstruction of damaged buildings in the campus of the Nursing School in Sittway, Rakhine State.
Afterwards, the Union minister met the principal and trainees to encourage them and fulfil their needs. They proceeded to the Traditional Medicine Hospital in Sittway and Head of Rakhine State Traditional Medicine Department Daw Thein Thein Oo reported on the damage and the Union minister fulfilled the necessary things.
In the afternoon, the Union minister and officials met specialists and rapid response team-RRT medical teams at the Sittway General Hospital. The Union minister highlighted that the government emphasizes the damaged health facilities as the first priority and the ministry is also fulfilling the needs of health workers. He gave necessary instructions to five RRT medical teams bound for Rathedaung and Pauktaw townships to provide healthcare to storm victims.
The Union minister and party met staff from the Public Health Department of Sittway and left proper instructions. — MNA/TS
