MoH Union Minister meets Thailand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win who is attending the 15th ASEAN Health Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings in Bali, Indonesia from 11 to 15 May met a delegation led by Thailand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Mr Anutin Charnvirakul at Corad Hotel Bali Lagoon Room (1).
During the meeting, the Union minister thanked Myanmar for facilitating the supply of liquid oxygen and oxygen tanks through the border areas during the third wave of COVID-19.
The Union minister expressed thanks for the recent donation of one million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Myanmar and the RT PCR laboratory donations to the National Institutes of Health Laboratory.
The Union minister discussed cooperation in the field of public health care in the post-COVID-19 epidemic, border disease surveillance and information exchange, health human resource development, a study of Thailand’s experience to reduce public costs in accessing universal healthcare in Myanmar, and vaccination of Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.
They also exchanged views on the need for Thailand to donate more COVID-19 vaccine to Myanmar.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Health of Myanmar and Thailand Ministry of Public Health. —MNA
