MoHA holds ceremonies of fish releasing, offering to elders

The donation for elders and fish-releasing ceremonies were held by the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Mingala Lake next to Pyinmana-Taungnyo Road in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of the first day of Myanmar New Year 1385.
State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut and wife, Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Toe Yi and wife, Deputy Minister Chief of Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet and wife, Permanent Secretary U Khine Tun Oo and wife, directors-general, senior officials and their wives, officials, staff and family members attended the ceremony, and led by Deputy Prime Minister MoHA Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut and wife, 3,000 golden carp fingerlings were released into the Mingala Lake as a good deed.
Afterwards, the offertory ceremony for elders took place at the Arindhamma Hall of office No 8 of Myanmar Police Force, Nay Pyi Taw at 9:30 am. State Administration Council member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut and wife, and officials attended the ceremony. Led by Deputy Prime Minister MoHA Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut and his wife, New Year offerings were donated to 18 attendee elders out of the existing 79 elders in accordance with Myanmar customs and traditions, and Grandma Daw Khin San Yi repeated her prayers on behalf of the elders.
In the ceremony, 79 elders aged 80 and above were offered cash and medical supplies as a courtesy. — MNA/CT
