Mohnyin Township to get detour for better transport

Local authorities are constructing a detour of Mohnyin.
Kachin State government allotted K5.86 billion on construction of an eight-mile and six-furlong long and 12-foot wide asphalt road. An aim has been set to complete construction of the road in 2014-15 fiscal year.
Local people demanded construction of a detour of Mohnyin because heavy machinery, fuel bowsers and trucks with logs going to jade mines in Phakant Township caused damages to Shwebo-Myitkyina road and local roads in Mohnyin.
The detour will lie along the foot of a hill, east of Mohnyin. It will have a 300 feet long and 30 feet wide RC bridge identified Nantyin Creek Bridge.
Thein Than Htay, Swan Ah Pyae, Mann Pyi Tadun, Kaung Kin Lwin and En Khun Mai construction companies are building the road sections, Engineer of Township Public Works U Aye Lwin told media.—GNLM-001
