Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung attended the virtual meeting to draft annual plans for holding monthly festivals, exhibitions/competitions and ceremonies in regions/states yesterday.
The Union minister said preparations should be made for festivals around the Myanmar year in regions and states to lure tourists during the meeting. Other relevant tours should be created on the basis of widely expressing traditional festivals of ethnic people according to their traditions and cultures.
In drafting the annual programmes, food fairs, funfairs and sports events should be included while preserving Myanmar’s customs, traditions, cultures and heritage, which are nearly extinct.
It is necessary to create exciting activities, safe food and a safe travel environment. It should be emphasized to make preparations for providing proper services to tourists.
The Union minister called for cooperation works in drafting annual plans for holding monthly festivals, exhibitions/competitions and ceremonies in regions/states under the supervision of the relevant governments, regional orders and instructions.
Then, the attendees coordinated the discussion, and the Union minister concluded the meeting. —MNA
