Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung meets officials of hotels and lodges in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on 19 June.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung met officials from Nay Pyi Taw Hoteliers Association, and hotel and lodge operators in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, the Union Minister said that there are 98 licensed hotels and lodges in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and 75 hotels and lodges are currently under operations.
“Now the capital Nay Pyi Taw is called “Green City, Clean City, and Smart City” accordance with the guidelines, and it is necessary to strive for shaping the city clean and beautiful, and hotels must strive to be in line with the features of the city.
“In addition, regional and national certifications for health and safety are being issued HSP Plaque for the safety and security of tourists,” he added.
Hotels and lodges should be provided with comprehensive services to meet the needs of tourists with disabilities. Trainings are also being conducted in states and regions to provide services to the tourists with disabilities.
Citizens need to be careful about staying in hotels and lodges with citizenship scrutiny cards.
The Guest List Management System (GLMS) is being implemented to adapt the guest statistics in line with the changing methods, and 86 hotels have been registered, but their actual use is still low.
Then, the directors-general discussed health and safety issues and the issue of balanced government-private partnership. After that, the hotel and lodge owners discussed the arrangements and general matters to make the guests ready to stay at their hotels. Afterwards, the Union Minister inspected the clean and beautification and hotels in Nay Pyi Taw and the State Guest House.—MNA
