MoI organizes Htamane-making competition, fun fair

The Ministry of Information conducted a Htamane-making competition and fun fair at the ministry’s office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Union Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and his wife attended the ceremony together with Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and his wife, the permanent secretary and his wife and officials.
Firstly, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn gave a speech at the competition that the Htamane-making competition is usually held following Myanmar’s traditional culture and Htamane is made with collective effort. The Union minister added that the essence of the competition was to do something in unity and cooperation, not just to win or lose.
Afterwards, the Union minister, the deputy minister and officials watched and encouraged five competition teams from the office of the Ministry of Information, MRTV, the Information and Public Relations Department, the Printing and Publishing Department and the News and Periodicals Enterprise.
Then, the first prize was presented to the team of the Information and Public Relations Department by Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, the second prize to the team of the minister’s office by Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and the third prize to the team of the Printing and Publishing Department by the permanent secretary. The special prize went to the team of the News and Periodicals Enterprise for its support and encouragement. — MNA/MKKS
