MoI Union Minister discusses timely supply of school textbooks

The School Textbook Printing and Distribution Committee held its 1/2021 coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on 27 April.
Union Minister for Information U Chit Naing, in his capacity as chairman of the committee, discussed the crucial role of printing and distribution processes of school books via excellent cooperation with the relevant ministries, achievement through collective efforts and proper transportation system for school books to be supplied to the teachers and students in time.
The Union Minister also said the Ministry of Information is responsible for printing correct and quality books. The Ministry of Education, including the education staff of every level in respective districts and townships, is responsible for the distribution process.
He then highlighted the bilateral cooperation between the two ministries and urged the participants to discuss their difficulties openly.
Deputy Minister for Education U Zaw Win coordinated the discussion. At the same time, the Permanent Secretary of Information Ministry U Myo Myint Maung, in his capacity as vice-chairman of the committee, explained the formation of school textbook printing sub-committee, schoolbooks distribution sub-committee, schoolbook tender accepting and scrutinizing committee, procurement committee for raw materials, committee on fixing floor price and quality inspecting team, and other challenges in printing the schoolbooks during this year.
The members of relevant committees and sub-committees then clarified the plans to print and distribute the textbooks and schoolbooks for new curriculums in time. — MNA
