MoIC Union Minister inspects relocation of IDP camps, NVC issuance with Heads of Diplomatic Missions of ASEAN, neighbouring countries, representatives of AHA Centre in Rakhine State

Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing in his capacity as Vice-Chairman 1 of the Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development Work Coordination Committee, accompanied by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, led a team comprising of the officials and diplomats of ASEAN countries, China, India and Bangladesh embassies and representatives of the AHA Centre to inspect the vocational training schools, relocation of IDP camps and issuance of NVC (National Verification Card) in Rakhine State yesterday.
On arrival at the OSWSC (One Stop Women Support Centre) in Sittway Township, the Union Minister and party comforted the women and children and provided household items, foodstuffs and toys.
The Union minister and party then went to a vocational training school in Sittway township and community and social integration (multiplier course) and inspected the training processes.
They also met with the local ethnic females and women from IDP camps at basic tailoring training courses and provided commodities.
They then arrived at Kyaukpyu airport by Tatmadaw aircraft and went to Kyauktalon IDP and met with personnel in charge of camps and families.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Maj-Gen Khun Thant Zaw Htoo and District Administrator U Ye Lin Maung explained the relocation of IDP camps and procedures.
Then, the Union minister provided Family Kits for 375 households at the IDP camp while the Rakhine State Chief Minister gave school uniforms to students through the in-charge person of the Kalapikeseik Post-Primary School.
The Border Affairs Deputy Minister also provided K10.5 million (K1.5 million each) to seven households who have not received specific shelters at the new location.
Rakhine State Security and Border Affairs Minister Colonel Kyaw Thura also handed over the hospital supplies to an official of Ohn Taw dispensary.
The Union minister and party then observed the Kyaukpyu Gas Power Plant Project.
In the afternoon, they checked the granting of NVC by the township Immigration and Population Department at Thetkaepyin IDP camp in Sittway Township.
They then went to the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project where the Chief Port Officer reported on the project. They also viewed the jetty. — MNA/KTZH
