MoIP UM receives Interim UNRC, UNHC

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Interim UN Resident Coordinator and Interim Humanitarian Coordinator to Myanmar Mr Ramanathan Balakrishnan and party in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Both sides frankly exchanged views on the cooperation between the Ministry and UNFPA in the previous work on population and household census and the ability to carry out the last dialogue and negotiations, plan to support the ministry’s census activities while serving as a UNFPA resident representative after the UN Interim Resident Coordinator’s duties are over, the plan of the UNFPA Asia-Pacific Regional Director based in Thailand to visit Myanmar in the near future and the conditions for continued cooperation between the ministry and UNFPA in census activities. — MNA/TS
