The residents of Mongyawng Township in Tachilek District of Shan State (East) celebrated their traditional new year festivals beginning October 2021 and the villagers of Ayechan, Aungmyay and Zayhti villages also held celebrations yesterday.
The pastors lead the ethnic traditional new year festival according to traditions and people donated paddy, corn, peanut, sesame, chilli and other seasonal crops to their devotees for good deeds.
During the festival, the people living far from their natives return to their relatives and host family meals with their friends.
