MoNREC minister inspects forest plantations, elephant sanctuary in Ngalaik Camp, Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ohn Win inspected 50 acres of Manjanshar wood plantation, 200 acres of ecological supplementation wood plantations established in the 2019 and 2020 rainy season with the donation of the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association, in Ngalaik Camp in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, yesterday.
During the inspection tour, the Union Minister provided guidance on irrigation water supply and maintenance for the dry season and instruction to discuss and submit in detail the availability of workers for plant maintenance and plantation establishment during the COVID-19 crisis, species of trees to be planted, plantation form and irrigation water supply for the 100 acres of ecological supplementation wood plantations to be established in 2021.
The Union Minister and party also visited Ngalaik Sakhantha Elephant Camp and Elephant Museum. They inspected the road to be constructed through the forest, tropical pine plantations, construction of forest walkways, temporary shelters and cable-stayed bridges constructions and instructed necessary arrangements for safety at the construction site and at the public area. —MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
