Union Minister U Win Shein joins the 25th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting online yesterday.

Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Win Shein virtually joined the 25th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting yesterday.
Brunei Darussalam, Chair of ASEAN for 2021, hosted the meeting under the theme of “We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper”.
During the meeting, the Union Minister discussed the COVID-19 responses, cooperation with IMF, progress for sustainable development via financial integration, eases in financial services, and other matters related to ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services.
He then highlighted the COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP) of government as Comprehensive Economic Stimulus Plan, financial assistances in public health, cooperation work with ASEAN countries and international financial organizations to revise economic sectors.
The meeting discussed economic relief plans of member countries, COVID-19 vaccination programmes, and ASEAN countries’ financial integration.
The leaders also focused on the cooperation of ASEAN and Central Bank in financial sectors for the regional economic development, sustainable development programmes and work plans being implemented under ASEAN Blueprint 2025.
They also discussed matters related to the ASEAN financial integration for essential infrastructure development, cooperation in insurance industries, budget for ASEAN natural disaster managements, the collaboration of ASEAN Customs and Revenue Departments, money laundering and eliminating programmes on financial supports for violence.
The Associated Meetings of the 25th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting were also held and exchanged views on economic status of region countries, risk and opportunities, effective use of human resource in drafting the relief plans, cooperation with alliances, regional and IMF for sustainable economic development.  Cambodia will be the Chair of the 26th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting and its Associated Meetings in 2022. — MNA
