MoPFI Union Minister joins FACTI Panel discussion online

Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Soe Win participated in an online panel discussion of the High-level Regional Consultation on International Financial Accountability, Transparency and Integrity for Archiving the 2030 Agenda (FACTI Panel).
At the event, Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, former Prime Minister of Niger and FACTI Panel Co-chair, and Ms Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific delivered opening remarks.
Mr Abdul Hafeez Sheike, the Advisor of Pakistani Prime Minister’s Financial and Tax Advisor and Mr Richard Wagstaff, the President of the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, delivered keynote speeches.
The discussions included matters concerned with Financial Accountability, Transparency and Integrity in the interim report of FACTI Panel, shortcomings in the existing frameworks and possible ways to address these shortcomings, and measures to acquire common understanding.
The panel will submit its final report on these discussions to the United Nations on February next year. The virtual meeting was also taken part by Deputy Ministers U Maung Maung Win, U Sett Aung and Dr Min Ye Paing Hein, Permanent Secretary U Tun Tun Naing and departmental heads.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
