MoSWRR discusses resettlement, closure of IDP camps

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement organized a coordination meeting on the resettlement of internally displaced persons and closure of IDP camps yesterday.

During the meeting, Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine highlighted the work plans of ministries including procedures for the resettlement of internally displaced persons and assistances for IDPs while the State Administration Council focuses on such cases.

The resettlement of IDPs, mine-clearing programmes and peace processes are being carried out in proper momentum.

The Union Minister also stressed the need to cooperate for an establishment of safe, independent and normal living styles for the local IDPs.
She also urged the participants to discuss frankly to solve the difficulties.

Then, the Permanent Secretary, Directors-General and Officials presented the strategic plans and procedures for the resettlement of IDPs and closure of IDP camps, the formation of national and state-level committees, work plans, action plans being carried out in Kachin, Kayin, Shan and Rakhine states in accord with the strategy, and hardships faced in work processes.

The Union Minister coordinated the meeting and instructed the necessary things.—MNA/GNLM
