MoSWRR provides cash assistance for visually impaired persons

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement has supplied K30,000 each for the 658 visually impaired persons in 13 private schools for the blind in Yangon Region amid COVID-19.
The ministry drew up a plan to fulfill the needs of the disabled persons. In accordance with the plan, COVID-19 awareness programmes were conducted, and relief items and cash assistances were also provided.
A total of K7.5 million was provided for 250 visually impaired persons from the schools for the blind in Yangon Region yesterday.
On 25 May, the ministry supplied a total of K1.5 million for 50 visually impaired persons in a school for the blind in Myitkyina, Kachin State.
The Rehabilitation Department of the ministry will also provide cash assistance for the visually impaired persons of two schools for the blind in Sagaing Region, one school in Magway Region, four in Mandalay Region, and one in Shan State (South).— MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
